Description

This genealogical tree, traced throughout the 18th century, shows us the family line of the Blondels, a line of French origin, up to its junction with the Dubús family. Beyond its family record function, this document is a clear example of how genealogies were a tool of memory, identity and patrimonial legitimacy. At a time when family alliances transcended borders, this tree reflects the mobility and interconnectedness of European elites. It is also a characteristic example of the family and patrimonial funds that have reached our archives, and which allow us to reconstruct the social, economic and cultural networks of a Europe where Catalonia was not an isolated space, but a territory of passage, welcome and relationship. This document tells us about a Europe of family ties, transnational links and shared identities.
