Description

This documentary set includes propaganda material and printed matter related to the Ona Bookstore, the EDIGSA publishing house and the musical group Els Setze Jutges, protagonists of the New Song movement. In a context of cultural repression, these initiatives played a fundamental role in the recovery and dissemination of the Catalan language. EDIGSA was a key platform for musical production in Catalan, while Ona Bookstore became a space of cultural resistance. This document is part of the theme of culture and art, and shows how music and publishing were tools in the anti-Franco struggle and the construction of a modern and European Catalan identity. It is an essential source for understanding the relationship between culture, language and political commitment during Franco’s regime.
