Description

In 1686 the Hungarian city of Buda (part of present-day Budapest) surrendered to the armies that formed the Holy League and in which there were soldiers from the Catalan lands. This was one of the first great victories of the Christian troops against the Ottoman Turks, so when the news of the dam reached the city of Manresa, the city council ordered processions and parties in celebration of this victory.
