Description

The prison file of Salvador Puig i Antich, interned in the Barcelona Model Prison between October 1973 and March 1974, is a key document for understanding Franco’s repression in the last years of the dictatorship. Puig i Antich, a militant of the MIL (Iberian Liberation Movement), was executed by the regime in a judicial process full of irregularities, becoming a symbol of the fight for freedoms and human rights. This judicial document reflects institutional brutality against young opponents and highlights the lack of democratic guarantees. His figure has become a reference in historical memory and Catalan resistance, connecting with the founding values of the European Union: human dignity, freedom and justice. This file is a living witness of a past that challenges the present and reinforces the European commitment to democratic memory.
