Description

This documentary set brings together correspondence, posters and health reports drawn up by Dr. Lluís Sayé and Sampere, from the Institute of Sciences of the Health Studies Service, during the Spanish flu epidemic. These materials reflect the institutional and scientific response to a global health crisis, with information on hygienic measures, territorial impact and coordination between Catalan, Spanish and European populations. The whole offers a transversal vision of public health management at a time of great social vulnerability. It highlights Catalonia’s ability to respond to a global pandemic. This set of documents shows how Catalan health management was aligned with the European criteria of prevention, information and coordination, and how the documentation generated becomes key to understanding the construction of a shared health culture in Europe.
