Description

Deliberation of the Plenum of the Puigcerdà Village Council on August 7, 1659, which raised the need to inform the King of Spain of the disadvantages that would arise from separating the county of Cerdanya from the county of Rosselló. This document shows how the local governments were aware of the peace talks between France and Spain and did what little they could to prevent the separation of the territories. Four months later, the Treaty of the Pyrenees was signed on the island of Faisans.
