Account of the trips made by Ildefons Cerdà between 1855 and 1860 for the preparation of the study of the reform and expansion of Barcelona, with the aim of collecting the allowances. You can see the different trips he made to Madrid and Paris. After the demolition of the city walls was definitively authorized in 1854, in 1855 the government commissioned Cerdà to draw up a topographical plan of the Barcelona Plan. A clear defender of the hygienist ideas in vogue at the time, Cerdà began on his own to develop and structure his theoretical thinking, at the same time that he began to apply his revolutionary urban planning ideas in what would later be the city expansion project. the trips reflected in this document served the urban planner to get in touch with the latest currents of the time and take ideas for his great creation.
