Description

Request presented and signed by Lluís Domènech requesting a building permit for the reform of Canet’s house, where he lived for long periods and where he also left his creative, architectural and urban mark. It is accompanied by plans of the elevations that arrived through a private donation. The plans are not signed and were used by the contractor of the work, the house master Josep Cabruja i Feliu.
It is a multifaceted figure and universal character, who had a point of reflection and inspiration in Canet de Mar. In this way, it is in Canet where he will project, for example, the buildings of the Universal Exhibition of 1888, some of the works of Comillas, among other works. And he also concluded the main works on history and heraldry.
Casa Domènech is the last work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner, the father of Catalan Modernism and a universal figure: an important figure in European architecture.
