Description

In the context of the phylloxera plague that affected the wine-growing areas during the 1870s, the Diputació de Barcelona approved the creation of a nursery of American vines. With the aim of obtaining the seeds, the veterinarian Josep Presta i Corbera, director of the Experimental Farm in Barcelona, ​​traveled to Montpellier, where the reference agricultural society for the study of this disease was located.
