Description

The power of attorney granted by Jacint Verdaguer in 1902 for the administration of his property and literary rights is a key document to understand the patrimonial and legal dimension of his work. Verdaguer, central figure of the Renaissance, consolidated a modern Catalan literature with European projection. This document shows his awareness of the intellectual and economic value of his production, and the need to protect it legally. It also reflects the professionalization of the writer and the management of copyright at a time of consolidation of the publishing market.
