Description

The constitution of the Catalan Council of the European Movement, in April 1982, is a key document that links Catalonia with the European project from a political and civic perspective. This organization was born with the desire to promote the values of democracy, cooperation and European integration, all the while claiming the role of Catalonia as an active actor within this space. The document shows how, from civil society and Catalan institutions, a vision of a pluralistic Europe, respectful of national identities and committed to human rights, was promoted. It is a testament to Catalan Europeanism and the will to contribute to the construction of a fairer and more participatory Europe.
