Description

Calçotada is a gastronomic invention from Vallenc, of uncertain origin. It seems that it could be documented in 1906 and in the 1920s the first images and films of panty parties organized by family, friends or work colleagues begin to appear. They were meals celebrated in privacy but with a group of guests. Little by little, the custom began to appear in the press and one of the first steps towards its institutionalization were the Great Artistic Socks of l’Olla, between 1947-1956. Eating by getting your hands dirty, looking at the sky, pleases and has become a tradition. Next to the usual calçotadas, business and tourism have emerged and who knows how far it will go? If calçotadas were made in Andorra, now they are also made in Germany…
