Description

Valls is considered the birthplace of human castles, where they were documented from the first ten-year festivals, in 1791. Since then, the context has changed a lot, as has the technique, but they remain linked to the festival and culture, and continue to progress. The performance in Brussels was the first of a group abroad and undoubtedly contributed to their subsequent recognition at an international level, which culminated on 16/11/2010 when Unesco included them in the representative list of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Its motto: strength, balance, courage and sanity, and its ability to integrate newcomers are one of Catalonia’s presentation cards to the world.
