Description

From the heartbeat of civil society to the universalization of a European sport. The Cadí Canoë-Kayak Club was founded in 1964 and that same year some canoes arrived from Lleida and the first kayaking experiences began in the Segre and Valira rivers. Immediately the Club began to organize local competitions and participated in others in neighboring counties. From 1972, the first descents and slalom competitions of a homologable category took place in Europe, organizing and hosting international events.

The success of the Olympic whitewater slalom competitions at the Barcelona 1992 Games consolidated Club Cadí as a benchmark in world kayaking. Since then, the sports organization has organized and continues to develop numerous editions of the World Cup as well as promoting training stays for European kayakers. At the same time, a not inconsiderable important part of its members participates as referee in international competitions as well as some are signed as coaches of important national teams around the world.
