Description

The image of the group of workers from Les Salines de Cardona, dated between 1890 and 1900, is a photographic document of great historical and social value. This photograph shows the faces and conditions of the salt workers who worked in the traditional exploitation of salt before the discovery of potassium salts and the subsequent industrialization of salt. Its inclusion makes it possible to recover the memory of manual work and the culture of the territory before the industrial transformation, and emphasizes the dignity of work and collective identity within the framework of European labor history.
