The 1st International Congress of the Catalan Language, held in Barcelona in 1906, was a key event in the consolidation of cultural and linguistic Catalanism. It brings together intellectuals, writers and scholars from all over the Catalan-speaking territories and from abroad, with the aim of claiming the dignity, normalization and scientific study of the Catalan language.
