Description

The monastery of Santes Creus, of the Cistercian order, had been definitively confiscated in 1835, but in the era of photography it was beginning to be rediscovered, although the definitive impulse to protect and recover it was its declaration as a Historical Monument in 1921. The Cistercian, an international order, which was born as a reform of Benedictine monasticism, marked the feudalization process of Catalonia Nova but its architecture and the agrarian landscape it generates mark the entire European West.
