Description

Throughout its history, the entrance of the creatures to the Provincial Maternity and Exhibition House was constant, and between the second half of the 19th century and the first third of the 20th century, around 40% accessed it through the shift system. Located on Carrer de les Ramelleres in the Raval neighborhood since 1854. The religious sisters wrote down in a register the sex, day and time of the child’s admission, as well as the clothing and personal items they were carrying, such as scapulars, medals, ribbons, cards and others. They were also assigned a number that was placed around their neck on a lead and that they had to wear. The Ramelleres shift was definitively closed in 1930.
