Description

The floor plan of the Berga courts building, designed by the architect Emili Porta between 1925 and 1930, is a valuable example of technical documentation that allows us to know in detail the evolution of institutional architecture and urban planning in Catalonia. This plan reflects the functional and aesthetic criteria of the moment, in a context of consolidation of public services and modernization of judicial infrastructures. The document is part of the themes of urban planning, architecture and collective services, and shows how architectural rationality and the desire for public service were articulated within the framework of a Catalonia that aspired to a modern and efficient administration, in tune with European models.
