Description

The plan “Paraninfo. Transversal section”, dated 22 October 1877, is part of the revalidation exercise with which Antoni Gaudí obtained the title of architect. This document, preserved in the UPC Archive, is an early example of the technical and creative talent of one of the most universal architects in Catalonia and Europe. Signed by Gaudí himself and the court secretary August Font i Carreras, the plan reflects the academic rigor of the Barcelona School of Architecture and the training of a generation of architects who would transform the urban landscape. This document connects with the European values of training, excellence and innovation, and anticipates the unique work of Gaudí, which would become a heritage of humanity. It is a key piece for understanding the origins of an architectural language that Catalonia would project to the world.
