Description

This is an architectural plan of the main facade of a residential villa designed in 1915 by the architect Josep Maria Miró on behalf of the owner Esteve Barangé, in the town of Cardedeu (Vallès Oriental). The document, preserved in the Regional Archives of Vallès Oriental, is part of a set of domestic architecture projects from the beginning of the 20th century, in a context of urban growth and consolidation of bourgeois summering in the region.
The plan shows in detail the formal composition of the facade, with decorative elements typical of late modernism and the beginnings of the noucentisme, styles that prevailed at that time. This type of document is not only of technical value, but also historical and patrimonial, as it allows studying the evolution of Catalan residential architecture and its adaptation to European trends. A fact that demonstrates the influence of European architectural currents in the local area and the transformation of the Catalan territory through private architecture.
