Description

At the beginning of the 1930s, El Prat de Llobregat had three airfields: the old Volateria airfield (1916), the Latécoère airfield (1919) and the Canudas airfield (1923). The idea of building a large-capacity civil airport was part of a Catalan airport project, with a series of airfields spread across the territory. The Prat, however, was to be a great infrastructure designed to connect Barcelona and Catalonia with Europe and the world.
