Description

The plan of 1925 with the proposed urbanization of La Florida as a Garden City is a direct testimony to the influence of Noucentisme and European urban planning trends in Catalonia. Inspired by the ideas of Ebenezer Howard and Raymond Unwin, the project proposes a model of a healthy, orderly city designed for the well-being of the working class. This proposal reflects a new way of understanding urban space, where nature, decent housing and rational planning become central axes. The document is part of the themes of urban planning, architecture and economic drivers, and shows how Catalonia actively participated in European debates on the modern city and the quality of life of workers.
