Description

Modernist architecture is one of the three most internationally recognized in Catalonia. Josep M. Jujol was one of the great architects of that time, author of numerous recognized works and reference as a transitional architect between modernism and architectural avant-gardes.
In Sant Joan Despí Jujol carried out nearly a hundred works, including renovations of existing buildings, such as Can Negre, or new buildings such as Torre de la Creu or this building, which was his residence in the municipality, where he worked as an auxiliary municipal architect.
In recent years, the work of Josep M. Jujol has been vindicated, with numerous publications both local and international, the creation of the Jujol Chair at the UPC and the studies promoted by the Technical University of Delft, among others.
Catalonia’s contribution to European architecture is unquestionable. In the municipal archives we can find the documentation provided by the architects and promoters of these works and we are a point of reference and starting point for their study and dissemination.
