Description

This letter, written in Arabic on a roll of paper more than twenty meters long, is part of the set of nearly two hundred documents written in Arabic from the 13th to the 15th century received in the Aragonese royal chancellery that are preserved in the Archives of the Crown of Aragon. They bear witness to the intensity of the diplomatic relations maintained by the kings of Aragon with all the Islamic kingdoms of the southern Mediterranean, from Granada to Egypt. These documents have been registered in 2025 in the UNESCO Memory of the World register.
