Description

The sardana, Catalonia’s national dance, is present at all the country’s festive celebrations. This document, which includes two emblematic sardanas—Rosa d’abril and Formosa primavera—reflects the strength of popular culture as an element of cohesion and identity. The sardana symbolizes equality, community and the continuity of a tradition that has been able to adapt to the times. These musical pieces are testimony to the richness of the Catalan sound heritage and its ability to transmit collective emotions. In the European context, the sardana represents a living expression of cultural diversity and the will to preserve the roots in a globalized world.
