Description: In 1920, in the midst of the cultural effervescence of Noucentisme, Josep Maria Mateu i Pla, under the pseudonym X. Poli, composed “The Canigó Mountains”, a piece for pianola that symbolizes the fusion between tradition and modernity. El Canigó, the mythical mountain of Catalanism, becomes a source of musical inspiration here, projecting Catalan identity through innovative and international technological support. This sound document, preserved in the Priorat Regional Archive, reflects Catalonia’s will to participate actively in European artistic currents, while preserving its own symbols.
