After making several unsuccessful oppositions, he was appointed on April 25, 1730, rector of the small parish of Sant Mart\u00ed d&#8217;Ollers, a position he held until 1781. In addition to being rector, he was also a teacher there and wrote and translated books. As a priest he felt called to help the formation of youth. His main work &#8220;Instructions for teaching maids&#8221;, is the result of many years of work and experience. The text, very thoughtful, was intended to be a useful book for boys who went to school and which could also be used in teaching in private homes. It was published in 1749.
