This parchment is direct evidence of the first forms of land ownership and transmission in the context of the county of Girona, in the middle of the Carolingian era. Its writing in Latin and its legal structure reflect the consolidation of an emerging feudal system, where land becomes the axis of power and social organization. This document allows us to understand how the territory was shaped and how economic and legal relations were formalized in a Europe that was beginning to be structured through networks of loyalty and lordly control.
