It was built by the company Energia El\u00e8ctrica de Catalunya, and the project of the works was drawn up in 1911 by the French engineer Leon Mounaille of the company Locher &#038; Cie of Zurich (Switzerland), directing the works by the same company through its subsidiary &#8220;Trabajos Hidr\u00e1ulicos de los Altos Pirineos&#8221;. Only with the technical cooperation of European and Commonwealth companies was the energy modernization of the second industrial revolution in Catalonia possible.
