In the Middle and Modern Ages, the towns compiled their local law in volumes that were usually known by the color of their cover (the “Green Book”, the “Red Book”), or they were known by some other external detail, as would be the case of the “Chain Book” of Reus (for having a chain that closed the book), among others.
\nThe compilation of the Green Book, which seems to have begun to be written in 1567, basically collects documentation from the 16th and 17th centuries, since it transcribes very little from earlier, the oldest of which is the Population Charter of 1186, and the most modern document is from 1672.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":14856,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false},"eix":[3],"class_list":["post-10094","document","type-document","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","eix-sistema-institucional-i-governanca"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\ngreen book -
